EMDR and
Trauma
EMDR (Eye
Movement Desensitation and Reprocessing) is a specific therapy that helps people heal from tramatic
life events. I have basic training in EMDR, completed in 2020. In our counseling sessions, I work with clients to unlock debilitating holds that trauma has on their lives.
A variety of factors – including
stress, hormonal changes, trauma, medical conditions, and genetic influences – can cause depression. Depression affects people of every age and background, and can provoke jarring thoughts
and feelings within. Through psycho-education and solution-oriented therapy, I assist individuals and families who struggle
with depression.
Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are often
debilitating – socially, physically, and emotionally.
In my office, we’ll endeavor to
understand and unravel anxiety in constructive, healing ways.
Grief
Grief is a natural response to loss
(no matter the sort of loss), and it can be deeply confusing and overwhelming. My specialization is in creating space where you navigate the complex emotions that come with loss. I will help process
your feelings and honor your experience, working toward paths of healing.
Issues of Faith and Religion in Community
I help individuals address the unique challenges they've faced within religious communities, such as emotional
and spiritual wounds, betrayal, and trauma.
Enneagram
I have a specialty and keen interest in the Enneagram. Throughout the
counseling process, I incorporate this personality examination into our sessions. The Enneagram helps individuals have a greater understanding of themselves and how to relate best to the persons around them.
Additionally I work with business executives, professionals, and church
leaders in helping them remain mindful of how their Enneagram type effects their workplace.
In March 2019 I received certification in the Enneagram Spectrum Training
with Dr. Jerry Wagner.
