During my two years in graduate school, I worked with a non-profit organization which helped hundreds of young women with the challenges of growing up in
today's culture. I assisted in STD testing, educated on sexual issues, and had numerous counseling conversations concerning depression, post-abortion recovery, drug abuse, and spousal
abuse.
Since moving to Houston in 2007, I have continued to develop my work with teens and young women and have expanded my counseling repertoire. I worked at a
non-profit in Houston for several years. While there I assisted people through a wide variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, parent/teen communication, grief/loss, bipolar,
and anger management. I find I relate easily and openly with all ages and types of people.
In 2008, I began speaking in schools and universities to educate persons on the issues of dating violence and sexting. Since then, I have spoken to
groups about contemporary issues, presented at corporations and conferences on the Enneagram, and have taught classes at the college level.
In November of 2009, I became a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART) and have since helped numerous individuals and families overcome
anger-related issues. I began studying and growing my understanding of the Enneagram in the fall of 2016. In March 2019 I received certification in the Enneagram Spectrum Training with Dr. Jerry Wagner. I completed basic training in EMDR in
2020.
I am a member of the Texas
Counseling Association.
On days I am out of the office,
you can find me in one of three places: a National Park, Disney World, or curled up on my couch reading a good book, most likely with my cat.
